Our Mission: To promote community giving, raise awareness and develop resources for small local nonprofits within the greater Denver Metro community.
Denver Gives was founded in 2008 by young professionals that wanted to make a difference in their community. Denver Gives was created with the sole purpose of developing awareness and resources for small nonprofits in the Greater Denver Metropolitan area.
An independent, privately operated, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Denver Gives receives no city, county, state or federal government funding and no financial support from any national organizations. Denver Gives relies entirely upon private donations, grants, bequests and fundraising events to provide nonprofits with the resources to perpetuate their purpose.
Raising Awareness Through Events
Denver Gives raises awareness of local nonprofits and the needs of those and other small nonprofits through our events. Our events are designed to draw in professionals from all over the Denver Metro area promoting good times for everyone!

Attend our Events!
By simply attending our events, whether its a social or one of our signature events, you are adding to the awareness of small nonprofits in general and are offered specifics on what challenges they face.
Become a Member!
By becoming a member, you allow Denver Gives the opportunity to further it’s mission and purpose by providing the resource of funding and thus time to sit down and work with the Board, staff and volunteers of a small nonprofit and develop resources to help them become more productive and effective in delivering their programs and services.
Become a Volunteer!
By becoming a volunteer for our events, on our committees, by holding a position on our Board of Directors, you are helping further our purpose by providing Denver Gives with resources to expand it’s ability to give time, energy, and resources to the small nonprofits most in need.
Developing Resources Through NO COST Programs and Services
Admittedly, most people do not understand what Denver Gives does, nor why we are needed in our community. In order to understand why we are here, you have to understand the nonprofit landscape here in Colorado and the differences between Denver and other major cities.
At Denver Gives, we feel there is an opportunity for us to bridge gaps in giving, provide needed services, and promote collaboration within the nonprofit sector in order to reduce the strain on our nonprofit resources here in Colorado. We offer all our programs and services FREE to local small nonprofits. The programs for 2011 include:
- Educational Series for Small Nonprofits
- Educational Forum
- Charity Resources Committee
- Resource Development
Why just small nonprofits?
Small nonprofits tend to be on the frontlines of community need. Most were developed out of a passion to give back in a specific way because of experience with the LACK of services within the community.
Small nonprofits generally have a difficult time accessing the information needed to grow and develop as a nonprofit because of a lack of resources, including but not limited to time, staff, and finance.
Small nonprofits need resources to help them develop and grow as well as meet community needs. Through Denver Gives, small nonprofits, for no cost and very little time, can gain access to resources they may not have been aware of, been unable to apply for in the past, or even been denied in the past.
Members receive advance notification of events and event discounts and provide Denver Gives with the means to further it’s mission as well as the mission of every nonprofit we assist.
